Tweezer tops and bottoms

Japanese candlesticks · Beginner → Intermediate · 5 min read
You will learn to
  • Matching highs and lows
  • Why they work best combined with another pattern

The shape

equallows

Two or more candles with matching lows (tweezer bottom) or matching highs (tweezer top). Price tested the same level twice and was rejected both times — a double bottom in miniature.

Using them

On their own, minor. They become interesting when the candles also form another pattern — a hammer with a matching low, a harami at matching highs — or when the matching level is a higher-timeframe support. Remember liquidity: equal lows are also where stops collect, so a sweep through them is common before any reversal.
