Discipline: guardrails, checklist and journal
You will learn to
- Rules that protect you from yourself
- A pre-trade checklist
- Reviewing trades properly
Behaviour loses more than analysis
The losses that hurt usually come from revenge trades after a loss, doubling size to win it back, trading out of boredom, or holding a loser "until it comes back". Rules decided calmly beforehand beat willpower in the moment.
Tools in NexusCore
- Guardrails (Settings → Edit guardrails): daily loss limit, maximum trades per day, cool-down after losses, maximum risk per trade, maximum open positions. Tightening applies at once; loosening only from the next day — on purpose.
- The checklist in the ticket: higher timeframes, target ≥ 1.5R, at a level, stop beyond structure, no major news, calm.
- The journal records every trade with its context. Review weekly: which setups, which hours, which mistakes. Under ~30 trades, differences between groups are mostly luck.

Check yourself
1. You took two losses and want to win it back with double size. Best move?
- Double size
- Stop for the cool-down and review the trades ✓
- Switch to a smaller timeframe
That impulse is exactly what the cool-down exists for.
2. Why does loosening a guardrail only apply tomorrow?
- A bug
- So the decision is made calmly, not mid-tilt ✓
- Exchange rules
The moment you want to loosen a limit is usually the worst moment to do it.
